Dear M.S. 419 Families:

It is an honor for me to introduce myself as the new Parent Coordinator. My name is Angélica Laverde. I am from Colombia, and like many of you, I came to this country with a dream for my family. I am also a mother, which allows me to better understand many of the experiences and challenges you face every day.

I am here to support you in any way you need. I have many plans and activities in mind to strengthen our school community and, most importantly, to ensure that our children have the best possible experience here at MS419. I’m excited to collaborate with you and work together to create events, workshops, or other initiatives and I invite you to participate actively. I look forward to getting to know you better, listen to you, and support you in all the areas you may need.

Please contact me via email at alaverde@schools.nyc.gov or via Remind under “PC Angelica.” Let’s stay in touch and connected about your child’s education.

I’ll be outside greeting you and your children everyday, so stop by for a chat!

Best,

Angélica Laverde

Community Coordinator Ms. Jasmin

Greetings M.S. 419 Families:

My name is Jasmin and I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the Community Coordinator of M.S. 419. I have met many of you at the gate when you drop off or pick up your child and it has been a pleasure to do so.

This will be my fourth year in this role and I look forward to continue to build community with our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students.

My role is to support you and your families. Middle school is a time of many changes and exciting developments and I am here to work with you to make sure we create an educational, safe, and fun community.

I work with Principal Montañes, the Parent Association, our faculty, and partner organizations to create workshops, events, and other programming to support parent education and leadership, connections with families, and connect you to school and community resources.

I encourage you stay informed about your child's education and different opportunities through Remind, an app that we use to connect directly among families, students, and faculty. Please contact me for more support with this!

I am located in Room 105. Come say hi and ask any questions or share ideas. I am excited to work with you to ensure the success of your child here at M.S. 419!
